Martin and Katie Luther join OSLC folks at assembly

Bring one of the Luther's with you this summer

Where will the summer take you this year?  The lake?  Camping?  Chicago? Canada?  Europe?

Wherever you're going, be sure to take along either Martin or Katie Luther.  Join us for Luther in Your Luggage.  Images of the loving couple will be available in a couple of weeks.  Take a picture of them on you travels and send it to us.  We will link to it on our Website.

Wouldn't Katie Luther look good with Mount Rushmore in the background?

OSLC hosts Sunshine Supper May 21

The people of Our Savior's will prepare and host the community Sunshine Supper on Monday evening.  The supper is open to anyone in the community, and usually about 200 people come to enjoy a free meal and some great community building.  The meal takes place at the United Methodist Church on North Street from 5:30 to 6:30.

Can you help?  Look for the signup board near the entry to OSLC.  We need volunteers to supply food, to serve, to clean up, and to just come and meet people.  The more the merrier.

Pentecost: the power to proclaim

May 27 is Pentecost Sunday.  The scripture readings for the day highlight to spectacular event that happened 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus and ten days after his ascension.  While the disciples, still wary of Roman and temple officials, huddles in a room obviously wondering what to do next, the Holy Spirit descended upon them and opened their hearts and minds.  They're fear vanished.  Any sense of doubt or inadequacy evaporated.  They rushed our into the street and told anyone who would listen that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Come and celebrate Pentecost by wearing something red to worship.  Red is the liturgical color of the day.  It is a color of celebration and joy.
