This is what Our Savior’s does—responds to needs and
meets them. As you begin the process of discerning what
you might return to the Lord this year, our prayer is that
you would challenge yourself to move up a step in your
giving. Check out the diagram and find where you are and
then take a step forward. As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians
9:10-12, “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for
food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and
increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be
enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will
produce thanksgiving to God through us; 12 for the
rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the
saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God.”
Because you choose to give to support the ministry into
which we are all called, people are fed and nourished through
meal programs, kids programs, school kits, homebound visits,
hospital visits, and a variety of choirs for singers and hand bell
ringers of all ages. Our children are taught about what their baptismal faith means in real terms for their lives right now. Our middle school and high school programming seeks to be a place where our youth discover more and more what it means to begin living their faith in real ways. Men and women both have opportunities to grow in small groups that find ways to
build one another up in Christian love. Our education is not simply limited to Sunday School or Confirmation classes, but includes adult education as well.
We want to invite you to a celebration of giving that will be taking place on Sunday, November 4th! We will have an opportunity to come forward with our gifts and offerings as a reminder of God’s love that continues to provide, as well as a sign of our faith to venture into this new process of adding a pastor. May God strengthen your faith and give you new depth to that story that you share with your sisters and brothers at OSLC.
As you prayerfully consider your pledge for the new year, know that your pledge helps us out in figuring how to be best stewards of the budget. We are thankful for your thoughtfulness. Please know that we understand a pledge is an esti-mate, and we realize that circumstances can change. We understand and thank you for whatever your gift may be. To-gether, we join in giving thanks to God by living out our faith in service of others. May God continue to walk with you through your journey.
Peace,
Pastor Tim
