Children's Education Opportunities:
Our children are
a vital part of our church. Our education ministries hope to provide children opportunities to grow in their Christian
faith, and to provide them with a strong spiritual foundation that creates a lifelong loving and personal relationship with
our Lord.
Here they will:
- Learn about God and Jesus
- Explore
Bible content in varied and exciting ways
- Experience the Love
of God and the joy of being one of God's children through laughter, play, and fun
- Learn the teachings of the Lutheran Church and the benefits of being part of the community of believers.
- Experience Milestones within the Christian life, including the presentation of Bibles, First
Communion.
Rotation Sunday School Concept
The Rotation Sunday School Model redesigns
classrooms into creative media-inspired kid-pleasing workshops focusing on one Bible story or lesson within a four or five
week "rotation" period. Workshop leaders repeat the lesson to a new group of children each week
with some age appropriate modifications and through a different workshop medium. This multi-modal approach targets the
many learning styles of the student.
Our Workshops:
Rotation Volunteers:
The Workshop Leader commits to one workshop for one rotation.
This person teaches the same lesson the entire Rotation with grade appropriate adjustments each week.
Sherpas (Shepherds) act as the guide for their assigned
age group. They stay with their group for the entire year on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, seeing to the pastoral needs
of the children, and assisting the workshop leaders as needed.
Storytellers assist the workshop leaders by sharing stories from Scripture in Drama formats.
Office workers maintain records and staff the office on
Sunday mornings.
Youth assistants share by
helping Rotation workshop leaders, sherpas, or being a sherpa.
Volunteering within this model is very flexible! You can serve
for one Rotation, or for all Rotations.
Everyone works
together as a team.
