Description of Events for RIOT Spring 2010 Calendar
Movie
nights – we get together to watch fun
movies with popcorn in our movie theater. No need to sign up. Come and bring a friend.
Breakfast with Brett
– this popular tradition continues. Once a month RIOT meets at Beans ‘n Cream in the morning
before school. Join us at 6:30am for a breakfast drink and pastry and hang with your friends.
Pie with Brett - meet
at church at 6pm and travel to Market Street diner for pie.
Night games at Thoreau
Park - Meet at Thoreau Park in Smith's Crossing (1521 Thoreau drive). Meet Jackie
Myers there for night games from 9-11pm. Jackie lives across the street.
VBS bag drop and Devil's lake:
Come to the 8am service on that day or meet us at 9am at the church. We will be going out into the neighborhood,
delivering invitations to our new August VBS. When we are done we will depart for Devil's lake for a cook-out, swimming,
and hiking. Sign up on the youth table and bring a permission slip to participate. Parent drivers are needed.
RIOT Adventure Trip Lock-in NO RIOT. This is a lock-in for those who are going on the summer
trip. Meet at the church at 7pm. Pick up a permission slip to participate.
Cookout at Brett's house - Join
me for an evening cookout and bonfire, beginning at 6pm - 9pm. I live at 152 W. MacArthur st. (by Northside School).
Sign up on the youth table so I know how much food to make.
Geo-Cashing – Join RIOT for
a fun day participating in the newest sport, gaining popularity nation-wide. Using GPS equipment, teams
will search for clues and hidden treasures in Sheehan Park. Meet at Sheehan Park Sunday, May 30 from
2-4pm. Sign up on the youth and family table.
Relay for Life - Sign up and spend a night with your
friends walking around the track for cancer. RIOT will have a team for this year's challenge. Sign up on the youth
table. More details to follow.
Mt. Olympus - Meet at church on Saturday, August 14 at 9am for a day
at Mt. Olympus. Your $20 covers your ticket and lunch. Parent drivers are needed and get in free. Sign up
on the youth table and pick up a permission slip to participate.
Lazertag - Travel with us to Ultrazone on the Westside
for this wildly popular event. Bring $10 for the cost of the games and ice cream to follow. Sign up on the youth
table and bring a permission slip signed to participate. Parent drivers are needed and play free.
